Dear Families:

My name is Leita and I am a very experienced Washington State certificated teacher. I have worked in the Puget Sound area in grades K-12 for many years. Put my experience and creative mind to work for you and your student! I am currently working in both public and private schools as well as serving as a principal arts coach in several public schools.

I am qualified to tutor and assist with homework in all subjects areas, PreK - 6, and reading/English K-12. I especially enjoy working with students in boosting their study skills, test taking skills and self-confidence, and I design specialized instruction with Response to Intervention techniques, inclusive of monitoring progress and the assessment of results. I especially enjoy working through word problems or essay questions, clearly showing every step and explaining every thought process until students obtain full conceptual understanding and can use key strategies confidently.

I have a degree in Elementary Education, a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and am endorsed in K-2 early childhood education and reading K-12.

I would be elated to help anyone who wants to work hard and I will provide motivators which will inspire any student (adult or child) to acquire successful learning. If you are looking for a dedicated educator who is patient, enthusiastic and cares, please give me a call. We can discuss your specific goals and how to effectively meet them.

Gets to know the child and tailors the sessions

My son enjoys Leita and her teaching style. The summer sessions are holistic and when school starts math will be the focus.

Calvin, 13 lessons with Leita

Great tutor!

Tutors middle school student in writing, social studies and science. She also works with my 3rd grader on reading comprehension and math skills.

Stachea, 133 lessons with Leita

Great Tutor all around!

I want to take the time to recognize the truly dedicated and skilled professional that Leita is. Our son, though skeptical of the whole idea at first, through Lieta's enthusiasm and great "kid know how" to get young learners interested, has won over both his heart and mind. No easy task with a 13 year old boy indeed! We're seeing him be both excited to learn and showing great progress across a range of academic topics they have worked on already (Math, penmanship, writing skills, study skills, etc...)
