I’m Brooke! I graduated summa cum laude from Elizabethtown College where I majored in biology and minored in psychology. I am a member of Tri Beta, a national biological honor society and Psi Chi, the international psychological honor society. I have taken a wide range of biology classes including general biology, cellular biology, genetics, ecology, anatomy and physiology, immunology, microbiology, and more. I have also taken many psychology related classes such as introduction to psychology, child development, cognitive psychology, neuroscience, psychotherapy and assessment, and more. Beyond excelling in these classes, I became a peer tutor at Elizabethtown College. I have been a tutor and teaching assistant for over three years and love helping students strengthen their understanding and appreciation of science. The classes I have most experience tutoring for are anatomy and physiology, general biology, genetics, and psychology.

In addition, I was a pre-medicine student and scored 92nd percentile on the MCAT. From my own studying, I have learned helpful tips that can help students to excel on the passage based questions and tackle content based studying.

So far, my experience pertains to tutoring college aged students. I have experience holding both group tutoring sessions and one on one lessons. My teaching style includes breaking down the topics using mnemonics and memorization techniques as well as building a strong foundational background before tackling more complex topics. I also often use visual aids and drawings to help clarify and explain topics. I am open to tailoring my teaching style to best support each student.
