Hello! My name is Doug, and I graduated magma cum laude from the Ohio state university. I have a masters degree in nuclear engineering from Ohio State where I taught first year engineering courses through graduate courses. I currently work for a specialty engineering firm providing technical services to the power industry.

My teaching methods focus on first principles. My day job requires coming up to speed on topics outside of our comfort zones, and then be able to teach that to others. We do this by “going back to the basics” and approaching problems intuitively,

This experience has led me to strengthen my background in math, physics, engineering, programming, and many other topics! Regardless of skill level I can guarantee a new way to approach and tackle problems that few can offer.

Throughout my career I have taken multiple math classes, including calculus, linear algebra, numerical methods, and differential equations. All of which I apply practically and assist others with on a near day to day basis.

My career focuses on engineering using first principles approaches for a wide array of topics. This requires us to blend multiple subject areas to derive a final solution.
