I am a PhD student at Stanford University with a love for Biology and all sciences! I have had a lifelong passion for teaching, and have taken opportunities to teach and tutor at all of my career stages.
In high school, I was a student in the international baccalaureate program, which grants two years worth of college credits to high school students taking college level curriculum while in high school. The rigor of this program placed me in an excellent position to tutor my peers in math and english, which I did for two years of high school.
When I started college I tutored elementary school students in english and math in my free time, continuing my passion for teaching. Then, in my second and third years of college, I worked as a teaching assistant for two courses, an honors interdisciplinary course and a biology lab course about evolution of multicellular organisms. I also was student in the honors college at James Madison University, and I graduated magna cum laude.
Once I graduated from college I completed an internship at the agricultural company Corteva where I was a part of the research and development team studying how to make better crops such as corn and soy. I led a team of about 30 people during the internship. This position helped me develop more interpersonal skills necessary for working in a collaborative work environment.
After that experience, I started graduate school at Stanford University, where I have conducted research in the field of biomedical sciences. Additionally, I have served as a teaching assistant for biology courses at Stanford including human and plant physiology. I mentor a high school student and an undergraduate student in the lab, teaching them wet lab techniques as well as how to read about and write about science.
Please reach out to me if you are in need of a tutor in any range of topics and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Hope to meet you soon!
