I am a native to Nevada, born and raised in Las Vegas. I have had a passion for history, culture, and language all my life, and after graduating from high school in 2012, I moved to Reno to enter University of Nevada, Reno, where I majored in International Affairs with a double minor in East Asian Studies and Japanese Language.
During my time studying there, I was an officer of the International Club on campus, and the Japanese language exchange/culture club. I spent two semesters studying abroad in Japan. I also worked part-time at the tutoring center for three years, and interned at the Northern Nevada International Center in my senior year of college.
I graduated from UNR in 2017, and after graduating, moved back home to Las Vegas, where I enrolled into graduate school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and studied to receive my Masters in Secondary Education, with a focus on social sciences. While attending graduate school full-time, I also worked for the Clark County School District as a guest teacher for high schools throughout the district. After three years in the graduate program, including one year of student teaching, I graduated with my Masters in Education from UNLV in 2020.
After graduation, I moved to Japan and became an English teacher at a Japanese middle school, where I lived and work for three years between 2020 - 2023. While teaching in Japan, I discovered a love for teaching English. After I moved back to Las Vegas from Japan late last year, I have since been enrolled studying to receive my TEFL certification, while also tutoring students in Las Vegas and online of all ages across a range of subjects.
I am extremely passionate about language and all of the social sciences, including culture, history, and political science. Teaching and sharing knowledge with students is what I love to do, and what I hope to spend the rest of my career doing. If you are interested in having me as a tutor, please contact me for more information or to schedule a lesson. Thank you.
