Bio

I specialize in foreign language and English composition at all levels, emphasizing middle-school and pre-college level work. My undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Chicago are in the social sciences, linguistics, and literature. Currently I am a high school French teacher. Previously I taught writing and composition at the college level. I spent time in Turkey teaching ESL, and returned to the United States to continue teaching at the university level.

I have an MA in Russian literature and have studied, for 10 years, the literary movements from the medieval era up to post soviet times. I also have knowledge of linguistics, grammar, and syntax as they relate to many different historical epochs of the Russian language. Questions of style and the influence of French on various 19th century authors was a topic I studied in depth. I am able to tutor in elementary through advanced Russian grammar with an emphasis on conversation through syntax.
