Instruction with English grammar/mathematical websites as well as creative approaches to pair/group learning have positively influenced my teaching. Workbooks, textbooks, puzzles, vocabulary word searches, dictation and internet games are a few approaches that have proven successful.
My creative upcycled art utilizes found objects such as old house shutters, coffee bags, recycled wood, buttons, shells, and wisteria. I have a passion for using what we already own... or using what we discover in nature to design utilitarian pieces such as memo boards, pillows, trivets, wreaths, framed art, and trays.
I have direct teaching instruction with art projects for the summer Bell Program (grades 4-7)and McKinney-Vento English/math tutoring program (grades 2 and 4). Coordination with classroom teachers/grade level curriculum to support McKinney-Vento students is critical. The art projects for the Bell Program included two and three dimensional designs with a focus on paper, colored pencils/markers, wearable button art, mobiles, shoe box creations, burlap journals, to name a few.
