I'm Abbie! I graduated manga cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a coursework emphasis in Actuarial Science. I am now a credentialed actuary, having earned my Associates of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) in 2023. To become a credentialed actuary, I had to pass many rigorous math exams that drew upon various mathematic concepts, ranging from algebra all the way to calculus and beyond. To pass these exams, I have used a variety of tutoring platforms, as well as having tutored others. I understand that learning and truly understanding math concepts takes patience from both the tutor and tutee, and I truly feel honored to be able to provide that patience and space for growth for my students.

I have multiple years tutoring experience in Algebra 1, working one-on-one or in small groups to help aide the grades and understanding of my students. I also have experience teaching statistical concepts to accelerated high school students in a group format. I use a lesson plan and worksheet format to provide hands-on practice, and explicitly teach the material with creative and real-work examples.
