I'm Abbie! I graduated manga cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a coursework emphasis in Actuarial Science. I am now a credentialed actuary, having earned my Associates of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) in 2023. To become a credentialed actuary, I had to pass many rigorous math exams that drew upon various mathematic concepts, ranging from algebra all the way to calculus and beyond. To pass these exams, I have used a variety of tutoring platforms, as well as having tutored others. I understand that learning and truly understanding math concepts takes patience from both the tutor and tutee, and I truly feel honored to be able to provide that patience and space for growth for my students.
I have multiple years tutoring experience in Algebra 1, working one-on-one or in small groups to help aide the grades and understanding of my students. I also have experience teaching statistical concepts to accelerated high school students in a group format. I use a lesson plan and worksheet format to provide hands-on practice, and explicitly teach the material with creative and real-work examples.
I want to be as beneficial to my students as possible, and therefore welcome any resources or suggestions students or parents can provide to specific areas of need, or current student coursework to improve upon. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
