Hi! My name is Angie, and I'm a senior in high school taking an advanced course load of college level classes. I’ve been tutoring online for four years, and focus especially on SAT test prep, math through Precalculus (specifically elementary, Algebra, and Geometry), and Chinese. I scored a 1590 on the SAT (790 English, 800 Math) and can help students familiarize with the content and plan strategies to do well. As a fellow student having taken the SAT recently, I am able to help others dissect questions and material from a peer’s perspective. I am fluent in Mandarin, was awarded the Seal of Biliteracy with Distinction, and scored a 5 on the AP Chinese Exam. I have also scored 5s in AP Physics 1, AP Calculus BC, and AP US History, and can help students with both material and test taking skills. I have taught students in one on one, semi-private, and group lesson formats in math, elementary science, English, SAT, and Chinese classes. I am currently available for any of these subjects in private or semi-private class formats.
In middle school, I discovered that learning in a traditional classroom was not the most efficient for me. Instead, I found success in self-lead exploration and the investigation of how and why something works. As a student tutor, I am able to approach each subject with the experience of someone who was in the same course only a few years earlier. With a student's perspective of test formatting, common misunderstandings, and useful strategies, I have helped students improve their academic experiences in their classes and their grasp of test taking skills.
