I have a bachelor's degree in piano performance, a double master's in piano performance and music history, and an additional master's degree in English. For close to forty years, I have taught piano, music theory, and composition. I teach preschoolers through advanced - all ages and levels. I am the president of my local Music Teachers' Association and the state chairperson for National Piano Guild Auditions. In addition, I serve the National Piano Guild as a judge.

While working in the field of music, I also homeschooled my four daughters, enabling them to acquire large merit scholarships to a variety of colleges and become not only financially independent, but enormously successful in their diverse fields. When our homeschooling years came to a close, I went back to school (while still teaching music) to complete a master's degree in English. Reading is a focal point of my life, and I believe it was their love for reading and skill as readers which helped my daughters to become such good students.

Reading is the basis of every good education and combined with an affinity for the arts enables creativity, imaginative thinking, and a strong work ethic to develop and flourish. I am passionate about understanding the whole person and using that knowledge to enhance the learning experience in both musical and literary endeavors.
