About Donald

Bio

I have been educating children, grades K-12, and adults for 27 years. I hold a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Arizona, a Reading Specialist Certificate and a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education. I am also a certified Study Skills Instructor through the SENSA Corporation and a certified International Reading Teacher with Berlitz. I have been educating children, grades K-12, and adults for 27 years. I hold a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Arizona, a Reading Specialist Certificate and a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education. I am also a certified Study Skills Instructor through the SENSA Corporation and a certified International Reading Teacher with Berlitz. My special skills include effective, practical instruction, interventions and study strategies for students with Learning Disabilities, Behavior Problems, ADHD and ADD. I pride myself on my many success with my students. I have served as faculty at two colleges in Teacher Education Programs and have led workshops in the areas of Educating Learning Disabled Students, Special Education Assessment and Behavior Management for state education departments in Arizona and Missouri. I have had the opportunity to create two private alternative schools for special needs students and worked as the Behavior Specialist at the Missouri School for the Deaf. I am also the proud father of a son with a learning disability, so I have a clear understanding of the unique challenges of having a special needs child.

My sessions include both pre-testing, to assess the needs of the student and post-testing to help measure success. My time-tested, effective intervention programs have proven to be very successful with students at all grade levels. I strongly believe that a positive, cooperative relationship with the parents and family members help create the most
effective and successful learning programs.
