Hello students,
My name is Elizabeth and as a person that is in college right now I know how hard school can be sometime in certain subjects. I have been to Cleveland Community College and almost finished a teacher’s assistant certificate. I have volunteered at Washington Elementary School in the 5th grade classes. I helped out at the public library in Kings Mountain leading a study group in high school and tutoring them in math. In high school I was like the school nerd because I did not want to stand out among the rest of my peers. Parents, your children need to know today that it is okay to be smart and get good grades. But they don't have to be the best of the best. This is not the military. It is okay to get grades of B's and C's. When I was going to school I was told that If I did not get straight A's I would not be any one in my life, but look at me now. I have succeeded in going to college.
Parents, a little bit about me: I came from a hard home life that I had to struggle to survive. But I graduated at the top of my class from Kings Mountain High School. I then went on to go to Cleveland Community College to study childhood education. I transferred and am now currently enrolled in Kaplan University Online for my degree in Computer Information Technology. I work well with elementary and middle school students from 1st grade to 8th grade in math. I will work with high school student in grades 9th through 12th with computer classes such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. My personal approach to tutoring is to see the way that you as student are trying to learn and give you a different approach and simpler steps to learning the material you need to learn to succeed and go to college or follow your dreams.
I look forward to working with everyone that needs any help that I can offer. I am still in school myself so I know how frustrating school can get, but just hang in there don't lose hope, do not give up, just keep going, then one day all your dreams just may as well come true too.
