My love of math began in middle school when I learned about integers. Learning about integers was fun because our class was playing Bingo using integers. I wanted to learn more concepts and the more I learned my passion grew as well. My love of math began in middle school when I learned about integers. Learning about integers was fun because our class was playing Bingo using integers. I wanted to learn more concepts and the more I learned my passion grew as well. That love of math influenced my decision to major and graduate with a B.S. in Mathematics from Georgia State University. I began volunteering as a tutor between 2006 and 2009 in mathematics from elementary to College Algebra and started again in 2012, the same year I joined WyzAnt. It gives me a great feeling seeing students "light up" after understanding the concept and gaining confidence. When solving math problems there's more than one way to come to a solution. My goal is helping people remove their fears in math. When I meet with students, having a connection is just as important as being competent on a subject matter. I show empathy and meet them where they are.

The best way to retain information that is taught is by practicing and using relatable illustrations to better understand the problems. Students will first try problems themselves so it helps to see where they are truly having problems, and boost their confidence at the same time. Patience, determination, and hard work generate positive results. If you want a tutor who is willing to go the extra mile for you then look no further. I greatly look forward to working with you.

CANCELLATION : At least 6 hrs notice is required. If cancelled within 3 hours or less of the scheduled time, 80% of the billing hour(s) will be charged. Elementary Math

Elementary Math

This is the subject where most students learn basic arithmetic such as the four basic operations and its applications. Students also learn to count money, telling time, identify graphs and shapes, basic problem solving, and measurements. My tutoring approach would be a combination of visual, verbal, and hands-on learning depending on the learning style of the student. Per the request of the student/or parents additional worksheets could be provided at no charge.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is a building block from elementary math and prealgebra combined. Students will see real-world connections using algebra with areas in finance, calculating distances, construction, and many more while using variables, equations, and graphs to find out.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is a continuation of algebra 1. Usually taken after geometry or together. It goes a bit more in depth in learning equations and functions and introduce more challenging subjects such as exponential and logarithmic functions, quadratic functions, rational equations and functions, and matrices and determinants.
Geometry,

Geometry

Geometry is about shapes and their properties. Level of expertise: I am very comfortable in tutoring basic/elementary geometry to most high school levels. I will be a limited help in writing geometric proofs for I will have to refer to additional sources. Writing proofs can be tricky and it requires familiarity with multiple theorems to provide a single proof.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

This was the subject that jump started my passion for math. Prealgebra is just like a follow-up from elementary math course. The subject includes introduction to integers, order of operations, writing algebraic expressions, equations, fractions, decimals, percentages, proportions, inequalities, and more properties. My teaching style would be a combination of visual, verbal, and hands-on depending on the learning style of the student. Per the request of students or parents additional worksheets could be provided at no charge.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Trigonometry is branch of mathematics that studies triangles and their relationships between their sides and angles. Trigonometric functions are most simply defined using the unit circle. This topic will include angle measures, pythagorean theorem, trig functions- the magic identity, the addition formulas, double-angle and half-angle formulas, and product and sum formulas, trig equations, hyperbolic trig, and many more.

Thanks so much! It was my pleasure working with Charlotte. I hope to continue in working with her in the near future.

Knowledgeable and organized

Telisha looked over some previous assignments that my daughter had and created a plan of attack. My daughter stated she was very clear when explaining and detailed. When the session was over my daughter came out and said I like her. We will definitely continue to work with her.

Calculus

She made things a lot clearer and easy to understand. She went through every problem and equation and showed my how to solve them, and why they were solved that way, strep-by-step.
