Bio

My name is Jared, and I recently graduated from UCLA with a degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I attended Lutheran High School of Orange County and graduated as an honored scholar (Top 4 in the class). I've always had a passion for helping others whether it be tutoring in math or science, volunteering to teach music at local high schools, or teaching chess! I am currently studying for the GMAT with the hopes of attending graduate business school to get my MBA. During this period, I have the awesome opportunity to tutor students and help them with their academic and extracurricular needs!

As a recent graduate with a degree in MAE, I know exactly what it takes to get through a rigorous and challenging program such as UCLA engineering. I would love to share my experiences and help my students learn the necessary skills to succeed academically and extracurricularly. Further, I want to highlight some of the mistakes I made or things that I did not do that I wish I had done which will allow my students to avoid these common mistakes and excel in whichever program they decide.

My goal in becoming a tutor is not to just be a tutor and do my students homework but rather to become a mentor and role model for students to who want to achieve their goals! My hope is giving each student the guidance he or she needs to get into the college of his or her choice by improving their academics and motivating them in their extracurricular activities. In the future, I hope to offer creative-project tutoring where I can work with students to build something they design whether it be an RC airplane, a robot, quadcopters, etc! If you are interested in this, I can provide examples of projects that I've worked on. Thank you for your consideration!

Jared was timely and professional.

Jared was timely and professional. I sat in the room the entire time and observed that he took time to engage my daughter with questions, rather than just speak "at" her. She felt very comfortable working with him, in part because of his personal skills, and in part because of his proximity in age. We look forward to his further tutoring of her in hopes that we can turn the corner on her struggles in math and work to raise her grade over the balance of her year.

Excellent Tutor!

Jared has had 3 sessions with my son (algebra 2) and I already see a tremendous amount of improvement. He has come up a full letter grade and is not having as much trouble with his homework. Jared is very knowledgeable, calm, patient, and always punctual. I would highly recommend him!

My son really enjoyed working with Jared on his Physics chapter review. His tutoring method was easy to follow. I will definitely be using him again for the future.

Knowledgeable and experienced teacher

Jared is clearly knowledgeable about the subject matter and was easily able to hit the ground running with my son's Honors Chemistry assignments even though he was required to work with an alternative online system. We look forward to continuing to work with him.

Very helpful, knowledgeable in physics.

Jared worked to make a last minute need for tutoring work in our schedule and spent two hours very patiently helping. Would recommend him.
