Muy buenos días, I'm Paula, a High School Spanish teacher and Department Chair with many years of experience teaching all levels of Spanish from beginner through AP. I approach second language instruction using a Comprehensible Input model, meaning that high-frequency words and structures are targeted in order to increase proficiency as quickly and organically as possible. However, I also love grammar and enjoy very much breaking it down into patterns we can predict and memorize.

I am happy to offer support with your high school or college coursework. If you are working with a particular curriculum I can provide expansion lessons around the themes of your text, and assist with test prep. Alternatively, I can help you to learn Spanish for the purposes of work, travel, or other communicative needs.

I am a Massachusetts certified Spanish teacher, a winner of the Grinspoon Pioneer Valley Excellence in Teaching award, and the chair of the World Language department. I think language is fun, and best approached with a sense of humor. My students know that mistakes are a welcome and necessary part of second language learning, and it's all about the trying, and trying, and trying again!
