Hi =) My name is Cynthia. I have a Bachelor of Arts - Interdisciplinary Studies K-8 degree. I am a certified teacher and hold certifications for grades K-8 and ESL. I consider myself an eternal learner and enjoy helping others achieve their educational goals. I have served as an educator at the elementary and middle school levels.

Hi =) My name is Cynthia. I have a Bachelor of Arts - Interdisciplinary Studies K-8 degree. I am a certified teacher and hold certifications for grades K-8 and ESL. I consider myself an eternal learner and enjoy helping others achieve their educational goals. I have served as an educator at the elementary and middle school levels.

I am committed to education and feel that the awards that I received illustrate my dedication and hard work. During the course of my education I graduated with honors, magna cum laude, with an Associate of Arts in Teaching. I received an Example of Excellence Recognition for a performance assessment submitted for my Bachelors degree. I also received a CLA+ Proficient Performance badge for Written Communication/Critical Thinking from the Council for Aid to Education.

I absolutely love Math. It is my favorite subject. I feel that when one loves a subject, they enjoy teaching it, as well. With a love of math comes a willingness to explore many ways to deliver instruction. I feel that it is important to help young scholars approach math with a variety of strategies in order to improve their understanding.

I have received highest scores possible in writing mechanics on several tests and have received a CLA+ Proficient Performance for Written Communication. I appreciate opportunities to help writers, at all skill levels, become successful.

I also understand the desire that many families have to homeschool their children. I homeschooled my son from 3rd grade through High School. In the beginning, my first steps into homeschooling were frightening, and there was a lot of uncertainty. Having graduated my son, in hindsight, I can honestly say that homeschooling was the absolute best decision for him. My son had a very positive experience and look forward to more lessons. Even after 1 lesson I could see his confidence increasing and frustration decreasing. The one on one attention is very beneficial. Wyzant made it very easy to be able to connect via his laptop. I’m pretty sure my son will be able to sleep better this evening just knowing he has the help he needs to improve his grade and learn the necessary math concepts.

I was struggling with an assignment. The course information was not enough to help me complete it. Cynthia asked for the materials I was reviewing. We met and she provided me with references and also information on how to obtain the information I needed. If the course would have done that I would not have needed help. Because of Cynthia I was able to complete the assignments. Highly recommended.

About cried with joy and his last session because it seems to be coming together which before almost seemed like an impossible task!
