As an experienced educator and lover of learning, I am excited to offer my tutoring services through WyzAnt! I first developed my passion for education as a student, which led me to study Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame (where I earned my Bachelor of Arts) and Classics at St. John's College, Santa Fe (where I earned my Master of Arts). While at St. John's College, I decided that I would become an educator in order to share my love of learning for others; after tutoring in Santa Fe Public Schools with AVID for a year, I joined one of the most competitive teaching programs in the country, the Mississippi Teacher Corps, where I simultaneously taught 9th and 10th grade English full-time and earned my MA in Education on a full scholarship to the University of Mississippi. I have since taught 10th grade English at UIC College Prep in Chicago.

My experience has led me to develop expertise in several areas. I have a deep familiarity with collegiate and graduate level study of Humanities disciplines (especially Philosophy and English). I've also had great success in making the basics of English (like reading and writing) more accessible to the adolescent learner. Also, due to my continual pursuit of academic learning, I have developed a strong record of familiarity and performance-boosting with standardized tests, including the ACT, SAT, and GRE.

In terms of the actual tutoring relationship, I intend to maintain a strong level of professionalism and adaptability. I am happy to make arrangements for tutoring which could feasibly be done by traveling to my clients or inviting my clients to meet me. In the spirit of this professionalism, I welcome open communications regarding any issues related to our tutoring relationship; whether it be your level of satisfaction with my services or something smaller like my 24-hour cancellation policy, I am happy to receive feedback and respond to the needs of my families.
