I have a passion for science and making it accessible to all students. My engineering background gives me the ability to deliver scientific information in a fun and educational manner.
I started out working as an engineer and began teaching on the college level. It was at that point I realized I love being in the classroom. After taking time off to raise my family, I decided to chase my passion and be a science teacher. Now, I have been teaching honors chemistry and AP chemistry for 2 years at a high school in NYC.
As a teacher, I provide students visuals as much as possible. I want them to be able to see what we are discussing and I tie it to real world scenarios. For example, when I do the solutions topic, I relate it back to water quality. Our final lab ties the whole topic together by testing different water samples using pH, ppm and other methods. Engaging and motivating students has been very rewarding for me as a teacher.
