My name is Souad, I was born and raised in Venezuela. My parents are Lebanese and I grew up hearing the Arabic Language. Due to my father's job, I lived in Lebanon for two years at the age of 15. There, I had to learn English, Arabic and some French. We moved to the U.S.A. when I was 17 years old, so I finished 11th and 12th grade. I have a B.S. in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I grew up in a family business, a ladies' shoe store, and I enjoyed working and being with a variety of people.

I have 4 children. When my older two kids where in elementary I decided to get my teaching certificate in Spanish. Due to having 2 more children I had completed only 6 classes. I decided to start substitute teaching as my children started 1st. grade. I have been substitute teaching for 8 years. I have had the opportunity to long-term substitute teach for Spanish to 5th and 6th graders three times. Currently, I am completing my M.A. in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) at Slippery Rock University. I have my ESL (English as Second Language) certificate. The reason for pursuing this major is because I can relate to different cultures and how it felt to learn English as a second language. I love also teaching Spanish because I lived in a Spanish country and a language is more than learning verbs and memorizing, it is having a conversation and learn about its culture and costumes.

I am a native speaker in Spanish, and also know the Arabic language. I earned my ESL certificate.

I enjoy sharing with students, including all ages, that learning a language is exciting, a unique experience, adds confidence and widens horizons that you never thought you could! Spreading the joy of learning a language is my goal.
