I am a data scientist and former academic researcher in neuroscience, psychology and statistical methods at Northeastern University. I specialize in tutoring psychological statistics, research methods/experimental design, as well as in neuroscience and cognitive science. I received my bachelor's degree in neuroscience from Pomona College along with a minor in psychology. I worked four years in psychology and neuroscience research, which provided me a deep understanding of statistics, research methods and quantitative analysis broadly. Additionally, I received a professional accreditation in data science, statistics and machine learning from the Thinkful Data Science Bootcamp.

I am very interested in the question of how students learn best, and especially how individuals vary in this way. Unfortunately, classroom environments don't always provide the best opportunities to learn. It's easy for students to doubt themselves when they feel their efforts aren't being rewarded in school. I try to provide students with a context that translates their efforts and talents into steady progress. Beyond only helping improve one's grades, this can be tremendously helpful for confidence and motivation in general. I'm very committed to the success of my students and I'm eager to go the extra mile, whatever that may be. I'm available on short notice and, while my subjects are math and science officially, I'm happy to help with other subjects that come up. Feel free to reach out to ask any questions, meet up, or schedule a lesson!

Sean to the rescue! Professional, Knowledgeable, Highly Recommend!

I am so thankful for his expertise and professionalism! His knowledge on Research Methodology and statistical data is very impressive. I felt completely lost on how to begin on the Research Methodology portion of my graduate thesis, however he put me at ease. Sean listened to all of my concerns and was very patient and helpful.

Knowledgeable Tutor

I had a research methods class with a progressive assignment that built upon a hypothetical research scenario each week. Each week the instructor would give feedback on a discussion board and I was having trouble both anticipating the requirements of the initial assignment and interpreting this feedback. Sean was instrumental in helping me bridge these gaps in my learning process and together we were able to keep my assignment on course for successful completion. He provided insight and clarity that I was not able to interpret from the class resources. I would recommend him for tutoring as he is very patient and guides you in a better understanding of the nature and design of research methods.
