I am a graduate of Haverford College, B.A. Mathematics, Minor in Education, and Certification in Secondary Math Education. I have worked with students in various classrooms in Philadelphia, PA, College Station, TX, and currently Indianapolis, IN. I feel passionate about helping others learn math because I understand what it is like to feel like you are not a "math person" and the incredible growth that can come from the right math mentors. I was someone who personally struggled in math throughout my elementary school years. With the help of some great teachers and their individualized teaching methods, I was able to proudly state that "I AM a math person." I feel so passionately about teaching and tutoring because I genuinely want students to feel that "aha" moment that I felt as I was developing as a learner. Now I understand math fluidly, to the point that I have a degree in this field from one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. I am patient, helpful, and empathetic to individual student needs. I can take that math student who says they are "just not a math person" and give them the skills they need to feel like they will succeed in any math classroom. I know how frustrating it is to be in their shoes, and I am willing to help. I understand that all students learn differently, and I am eager to provide differentiated instruction. From verbal learners to hands-on learners to visual learners and anyone in between, I will help my pupil learn math skills in a way that makes sense to them. I can tailor my tutoring to help students succeed based on what works for them individually.

Additionally, I take a holistic approach to tutoring; I help with organizational skills, advise students on how to get through tricky homework problems, and help students alleviate test anxiety, as these are essential components in academic success. If necessary, I can provide extra help mechanisms outside of class in the form of skill building practice problems, worksheets, or anything that may help your student su

EXCELLENT!!!

We could not be happier with Tina. She made sure that my son really understood all the concepts and not just getting the answers right. He scored higher than he ever has on his latest test. She also gave him excellent advice on how to approach the test to help with his test anxiety and confidence. Would recommend her to anyone. Will definitely be using her again!

Patient and kind

Tina met with my son and her demeanor was so patient and kind it really allowed him the ability to say when he wasn't grasping the concept. We are very happy we found Tina.

Patient Tutor Who Went Above and Beyond!

I signed my daughter up for an hour long session with Tina, but unfortunately they weren’t able to complete her homework during that time frame so Tina took another hour out of her day to stay and help my daughter complete it. They didn’t just rush through problems, Tina made sure she knew exactly what she was doing and would have the ability to solve them on her own without Tina’s help. She was patient and understood and related to my daughter’s struggles in math, making her very comforting to work with. Thank you Tina!

patient and thorough.

Tina took her time with Ryan making sure she fully understood the material before moving on to the next section. Additionally, Tina would then go back to the other sections for a quick review

Awesome Mid-term

My daughter was doing poorly in her Algebra II class. She just had her mid-term and scored a 91/92 the highest grade on the test.
