Why Me? I scored a 521 (99th percentile) on the MCAT on my first attempt. In undergrad, I was also a peer tutor for organic chemistry and test prep for multiple semesters and I won chemistry/biochemistry departmental awards for my academic performance. My Approach: I provide an individualized approach to students at every point in their preparation for the MCAT. For those just starting their studying, I will help create a comprehensive study plan and provide support with every aspect of preparation. For those who are further along and have specific areas of focus, I will assist with content review and practice support. In our first session, I will look to understand your background, goals, and timeline to formulate a comprehensive plan for studying. After that, each session will be based on the student's particular goals. I seek to assist students in developing their foundational knowledge before delving into the reasoning and logic behind various concepts to aid in true understanding rather than memorization, allowing students to approach the real exam with confidence in their critical analysis abilities. In the past, I have found it especially helpful to dedicate time to content clarification/understanding, testing strategies, and real-time practice. Learning content and test-taking strategies in a realistic context is one of the best ways to learn to approach every passage with confidence. With that, my tutoring approach focuses heavily on practice tests and discrete passages. I will help you create an effective schedule based on test-like conditions to ensure maximum exposure to realistic problems. We will then hold sessions to review your practice tests question by question, as this review has proven to be some of the most valuable for absorbing the logic of MCAT questions that might be hidden at first glance. Throughout, I will share the MCAT tips and tricks and my personal testing strategy to help you build your own expertise and develop a test-day plan.
