My name is Josh, and I was an educator for nine years in a public school where I instructed students in middle school physical science, high school chemistry, and high school biology. Before becoming a teacher I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with my B.S. in chemistry education and earned certificates to teach chemistry, biology, and general science. Four years after starting my teaching career, I earned my master's degree in chemistry from South Dakota State University. After teaching so many students, I have found that every person learns in their own unique ways. As we work through the material together, I aim to find a style that best enables you to succeed as you learn to overcome misconceptions and misunderstandings.

Regardless of how many students I instructed, I always got excited watching them find enjoyment when learning more about science, particularly chemistry, and gaining a sense of accomplishment as they began to master topics or concepts that they initially struggled with. As we work together, I will approach our tutoring sessions similarly to how I used to approach my classes. I believe guidance is necessary; practice is essential, and discovering how to problem solve by overcoming weaknesses promotes growth and aids in learning concepts more quickly.
