When helping someone with a creative project, I really work towards making my client or student's vision develop into a final piece that is refined and functional. I would ensure that the student understands how and when to use certain process.

For academic lessons, I would work according the individuals needs. I like to make lessons enjoyable for the student so that they are actively engaged and motivated to learn. I studied under the American standard curriculum and took AP courses, as well as graduated with an International Baccalaureate degree in high school.

Adobe Illustrator,

Adobe Illustrator

I have been using Adobe Illustrator for several years and am currently using the CC version. I am knowledgeable in the tools and functions in the program, am able to compare this program to other adobe programs and am able to determine when and why it's appropriate to use Illustrator vs. another program. I have personally used it to create graphics, logo designs, and typography assignments for college.
Adobe InDesign,

Adobe InDesign

I've used Adobe InDesign for my Communications and Graphics Design course as well as freelance work, so I am familiar with the software at a professional level. Students often wonder about the difference between InDesign and Photoshop. The best way to answer is that InDesign is ideal for creating layouts for print documents. I can assist my students in using the program if they have a specific project to complete from start to finish, from how to set up their new page to how the final should be saved and exporting it into a pdf document. For students who don't have any assignments to be done and just want to understand the program, I can explain all the tools and teach the student how each is used and also teach how to use 'smart guides' and 'rulers' to their advantage so that they understand the benefits of using InDesign when creating documents. It's great for booklets, fliers, packets, brochures, etc.

I have been using Adobe Photoshop since 2004, and am currently using Adobe Photoshop CC. I have a good understanding of the program features. Beyond that, I can teach how to create things on the program according to my client's preference such as editing photographs to creating pieces of art, avatars, desktop wallpapers, and much more.

My skills range from observational drawings of still life and figure drawing, to landscapes and perspective drawings, to creative and innovative illustration. I was in a higher level/honors level math class from elementary school throughout high school. In high school I have taken AP Statistics and AP Calculus as well as IB math. I would start out with doing a practice test in order to determine the student's current level. If possible, it would help to see any worksheets or syllabus provided by the school. After determining the student's level, I would work on helping the student build a strong foundation, excelling in the strengths while improving on areas that are weak. I design visual aids to help students understand what they are learning and really enjoy it. Improving a student's confidence in the subject is also a priority of mine.

Knowledgeable, attentive, responsive, patient, thorough, clear

Aru undertook the ominous task of undoing my Lightroom Library blunders; i.e., to delete duplicate photo files, connect lost files and move selected files. As I mentioned in my Review Title, she was very familiar with Lightroom "file restoration" and she was clear in explaining how my problems could best be resolved. I highly recommend Aru.

Resoirceful and patient

Aru was very patient and resourceful in her first session with our fourth grader. She asked lots of questions and listened as she got to know our son in order to help him with his reading and writing.

Knowledgeable, kind and gracious tutor!

I am a seventy year old man with little to no computer experience. Arundhati's patience with me was very rewarding as she started me on the path towards the completion of my online college course. Am very much looking forward to our next session!

Excellent teacher

Very positive and helpful and generous with her time. Arundhati is a skilled artist, gave my daughter practical and incisive advice for her portfolio, communicated with her via email outside of our sessions. She is a wonderful tutor!

Excellent tutor. Knowledgeable, Patient and Flexible

Arundhati worked with me on Publisher and inDesign. She really knows her stuff and is able to transmit the information clearly. She also is flexible in that I shifted focus mid-lesson. She shifted with me seamlessly which I really appreciated. Highly recommend her!

Very smart and personal

Arundhati helped me with my statistics project. She was always prepared before to lead with her instructs and she even had hand outs that she sent me after our tutoring session to keep me on track. Thank you very much Arundhati.

Knowledgeable tutor

We went over Excel. She showed me everything on my computer so there would be no difference in the versions and I would not get confused if I tried it at home. She was extremely helpful!

Great lesson from a skilled and friendly tutor

Arundhati taught me how to use iMovie. She was an excellent tutor for me. I consider myself a slow learner on computers, and she taught me at a comfortable pace, though she kept things moving along. I was thrilled to learn so much in one lesson. I will schedule another lesson very soon!

Thank you Betsy! The lute music in the background of your project makes the lessons very enjoyable for me as well! :) I look forward to seeing the final product!
