Bio

Teaching, whether one-on-one or on a class level, has always been my passion. I currently am employed as a lecturer in chemistry at a major state university, and thus have an intuitive understanding of where students can tend to stumble and get behind in the subject. I have vast experience in putting together effective lessons for students both on an individual and a class-size level, and will effectively target areas of misunderstanding within standard and unique chemistry rubrics.

My specialties are in the area of college nursing general chemistry and biochemistry, as well as high school general chemistry. I enjoy the challenge of meeting students where they are, and have a personal love of shepherding them through a course which they might rather not be in.

Over 10 years of experience teaching chemistry at the University level

I have had well over a decade of experience teaching thousands of college freshmen chemistry. Who better to tutor your chemistry needs than someone who teaches this subject for a living? It's OK to hate chemistry. I won't be offended! Let's make it through together!

Excellent one-on-one tutoring experience!

We could not have asked for a better tutoring experience! Steve F. responded to my request very quickly (and on a holiday weekend). He was very knowledgeable, well prepared and patient. He immediately put my teenage daughter as ease when working one-on-one with him and helped her fully understand the chemistry concepts she had been struggling with for a few weeks. We highly recommend Steve for high school chemistry tutoring and will absolutely reach out to him again should my daughter need further assistance. Big shout out to Wyzant as a whole, as well. The website and entire process was very easy to navigate with many choices of tutors and immediate help!

Clear and helpful

Steve provided exactly the right kind of support. He is clear and supportive. More important than his obvious high level of expertise and background knowledge, he obviously cares about ensuring students master material and feel confident.
