Hi! My names is Dip P. and I am a prospective medical student who just graduated with a Master's in Medical Science at Drexel. During my time at Drexel I was hired by the university as a professional tutor for graduate level biochemistry, biostatistics, medical microbiology, and physiology courses and I really enjoyed it. I think the most rewarding part of the job is to see students become more independent learners. I use Socratic methodology and a wide range of learning techniques to help my students actively learn. Everyone is different, so I usually structure the session around the student's weaknesses.
I have tutored for Drexel University's Center for Learning and Academic Success (CLASS) for about a year now. The students who come in for help are taking historically difficult, graduate level science classes geared to training future medical professionals. After six months of working for CLASS, I was offered and accepted a position as a PA facilitator, with the additional responsibility of helping first year physician assistant students in their medical coursework.
I'm really friendly and personable. We will focus on your weaknesses, and I'll put things in as simple of terms as possible for you to gain the most out of the session. Remember, there is no such thing as a bad question. Also, I would love to see whatever results and feedback you have to give.
