I have a degree in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida. I spent 15 years in the Medical Diagnostics industry: first in the laboratory as a biochemist, and eventually leaving the lab to work in sales and marketing of our medical products. I wanted to teach kids how to love science, so I quit my job and obtained my High School teacher certification in Middle Grades Science, Biology, General Science, and Spanish. I am certified as "Highly Qualified" in all of those areas. I have taught junior high and high school for 12 years. During those years, I taught Middle School Science, General Physical Science, Biology, and and advanced (CTE) Biotechnology class. I have taught at a small charter school and at a large public school. I also offered tutoring to students in my neighborhood. I am great at making kids feel confident in their strengths and weaknesses, and to feel good about themselves so they can learn. My love for science is infectious, and students like learning from me, specially Biology.
