I have been tutoring more than thirty years and have a wealth of experience in private one-on-one tutoring in a variety of settings and subjects. I have been tutoring more than thirty years and have a wealth of experience in private one-on-one tutoring in a variety of settings and subjects. Some of the subjects that I tutor are general math, pre-algebra, Algebra I, Biology, physiology, anatomy, essay writing, English, literature, reading, test prep (ACT, SAT, TEAS, ASVAB, ISEE, GMAT, GRE, to name a few), sociology, psychology, nursing and pre-nursing assignments, term papers, college admissions essays, ESL, grammar, science and medical writing, spelling, general science, history, and study skills. My experience with children with special needs began in 1991. I have extensive experience with persons with autism spectrum disorder, in a variety of environments. I worked as a full inclusion tutor for Behavioral Couseling and Research Center in California, one of the first agencies in the state to utilize applied behavior analysis programming. I am quite successful at integrating many types of behvioral techniques with teaching strategies. I work well in the home as well as in schools and in vocational settings. As a tutor, I am a positive, upbeat person who puts the students and parents at ease. Even the most severe behaviors are not a barrier to learning. Parents often remark on my quick results and the steady progress the students make. I hold training certifications in k-8 teaching, Crisis Prevention, and ABA.
