Hello, I'm Robert!

I am currently an Honors Student at NJIT, but previously went to the United States Military Academy before some medical issues. I am a Computer Science Major and am looking to teach high school students some preparatory Computer Science to get them ahead of their peers entering college. My main teaching experience has been as the Binary Exploitation Captain of the United States Military Academy's Competitive Cyber Team where I was tasked with teaching other members of the competitive cyber team the concepts of attacking running software and developing programs to get remote code execution. I have taken a number of CS college classes like Data Structures but the bulk of my expertise in the field comes from my time in the Army Competitive Cyber Team. I have taken high school math through differential equations and Calc III. I have gotten a 5 on AP CS A, AP Calc I, and AP Calc II.

I have in depth knowledge of Python, Java, C, and Assembly and can concepts ranging from how to code to more advanced concepts like Data Structures, Programming Languages, and Binary Exploitation. I'm also adept at math and can teach any high school level math course, AP Calc AB and AP Calc BC as well as Calc III.

When teaching CS I try to develop a deeper understanding than simple implementation. Many students in CS in college suffer from a limited understanding of CS and find themselves not really learning because of it. My lessons would look like explaining the concepts in CS and then walking through implementing something based on that concept. The goal at the end of every lesson would learning a new topic, making something related to that topic, and being able to explain why that topic is important and how it would fit into the grander scheme of Computer Science as a whole.

I want to prepare my students to do well in college and give them a more in depth understanding of CS. I have a 24 hour cancellation policy and I am happy to tailor lessons to any specific goal you are trying to meet.
