My name is William F, and I am a 28 year old high school social studies teacher with six years experience. I have a teaching license in the state of Ohio to teach grades 7-12 in social studies. I attended the University of Akron for my undergraduate degree where I graduated in 2016. After college, I spent my first year at Kirkmere Elementary School in Youngstown City Schools teaching 7th grade world history.
My second year teaching I accepted a position Austintown Fitch High School where I have been teaching since. At Fitch High School I have taught American History, World History, and American Government and I also currently serve as the supervisor to the Mock Trial Team. I have gained experience working with a diverse student population, adapting to the needs of a wide range of student needs.
I currently live in Kent, Ohio with my fiancée, two dogs, and cat.

Social Studies is first and foremost a language arts subject, requiring reading comprehension to understand the content and writing skills to express your ideas and conclusions. My social studies courses require students to read and write consistently and adeptly. Therefore, I consider myself a qualified tutor in the language arts as well as history.

I have six years experience teaching history and am a certified Highly Qualified Teacher in the subject area in the state of Ohio. I have taught American Government, World History, and American History at Fitch High School and worked to prepare students for their state tests in the areas of Government and US History. I have also worked with students at the 7th and 8th grade levels in history as well in past experiences at Kirkmere and teaching summer school courses.

I am an incredibly adaptive teacher who is always willing to adjust to what the student needs the most. I believe all students can be successful when their social and emotional needs have been met and have fostered within themselves self efficacy and self worth.
