Excellent, Knowledgeable, Patient Tutor!

After receiving notice from my department, I was frozen on my chair for a couple of minutes - I couldn't believe that they still require a TOEFL (speaking >=24) for ESL students who had taken undergrad in US mainland. I found Debbie without any hesitation - unlike reading or listening which you have instant feedback after you practice, you eventually will need someone to grade your speaking. She offered a free 15-minute session to discuss about my goal and the plan for tutoring. I swear to god that I would not even get a 20 without her help. The very first lesson came and I demonstrated how bad I was at speaking. It was her patience that encouraged me to speak up more, and I felt more confident than before. For those ESL standardized test, everybody can get a template for speaking/writing from the internet without paying. However, it is more than crucial to have someone that can guide you through these and explain to you what the graders are expecting. By saying that, Debbie will be your top choice as an ESL tutor. After an intense 1-week training, I ended up having a speaking score of 26. I would like to write a whole article showing my gratitude, but they are stuck at my throat when my hands are on the keyboard, just like how I spoke at the first lesson. I wish a "thank you" would be strong and representative enough, and I therefore recommend Debbie to everyone who needs help on TOEFL, IELTS, or more.

Best tutor ever! I mean it.

I have been using Wyzant for a month and I worked with about six tutors and Debbie is the my favorite. She works effectively, points out my strengths and weaknesses directly, charges reasonably, being passionate about my program/essay just like I am. She helped me edit and proofread my application essay and made me feel confident about myself. The edited document was done discreetly and became much better, well-structured and clear. I can tell that she spent time and effort on it. She really wanted to help me get the offer! I once worked with another tutor who charges high. I only met with that tutor for half and hour but that tutor charged me an hour rate because she said she spent another half hour in reading my essay and getting prepared for the class. I was once disappointed with this website and editing service. But Debbie is the one changed my mind. She charged by pages, which is much more reasonable, and provided free brief meeting to communicate with me in order to work efficiently. She is also easy to work well, responds my messages quickly and has a very free schedule, which is very important to me. Overall, I can’t say enough how I appreciate it and how much it means to me. I will definitely meet with Debbie again in the future.

Well prepared each session. Debbi spent her own time preparing for my 13 y/o son's ISEE tutoring sessions. Completely capable of tutoring him for the ISEE.
