My best experiences as a tutor have been with the students who needed me most, learning how they needed to learn. I have been a tutor in one setting or another since childhood.

As an undergraduate I was a teacher's assistant in English, German and Astronomy, a grader in Calculus and a tutor in Physics for scientists and engineers. I have continued to tutor Physics and Math ever since, including during my brief stint in the Santa Clara Teacher Credentialing program.

I make an effort to be welcoming to people of all backgrounds. Education needs to be a place of safety.

I am willing to discuss rate adjustment in person with those who can demonstrate need.

C++

I first started programming in C++ in high school in 1999. Since then, I have used the language in college during labwork and for personal amusement, but not professionally. I am capable at teaching the basics of logic and translating specific problems into code. I would not be the best choice for the experienced, but may be ideal for a beginner.

Reviews

Now I Love Physics!

It's taken me awhile to write the review, but here it is. Francesca was incredibly helpful and her love of physics is quite contagious, so beware! I ended up with a B in my class though my goal was to earn a C. I was ecstatic with a B. I am a returning student and having to go back to school was a big shock to my system. I was getting so behind in Physics and Francesca gave me the motivation to keep going. This was the first time I have paid for a tutor, and having a tutor in general turned out to be a good idea because I had someone that I could be accountable to. I also looked forward to having her explain the chapters after I read them. My teacher wasn't that good at explaining in a way I could understand. Thank you for all your help, Francesca!!

Last minute help

We really appreciate your last minute availability. Thank you so much for your help and skill. I can see your lesson has already helped my son in physics; as we discussed some of the subject over the weekend. 😀

Great teaching skills

My daughter really likes her teaching method. She always responds and sends some notes if my daughter has some questions. I highly recommend her as a professional tutor, teacher, and kind person. As a parent I would like to say thank you very much.

Great Calculus 2 (college) tutor

Francesca helped me so much with MTH142, Intermediate Calculus with Analytic Geometry. She was very accommodating of my schedule with night and weekend sessions. Being on opposite coasts actually worked to our favor as I am a night person.

Excellent tutor!

Francesca is fantastic at teaching AP Physics! She knows all the topics well and explains the concepts in simple words. She taught both my daughters when they took AP Physucs I in Grade 12

Friendly and Focused Tutor

My daughter actually received the tutoring, so I can only provide a review from my brief observation. Francesca appeared to be a very positive and experienced tutor. She was ready to dive in to help my daughter who is interested in having further sessions with Francesca, so in my mind, that is the best review!
