I have a teacher certificate as a physics teacher for teaching at the University in China. I used to lecture over 100 students a time. I taught calculus-based college physics in China. Physics concepts may be difficult to understand for some of students especially for those who are new to this subject. I like one-on-one tutoring, because I can quickly find each individual student's strength and weakness, then I can help them better understand concepts and master problem solving strategy. I'd love to see students' faces lighten up after my explanations clear all the confusion and questions they may have. I'd love to see students gaining confidence in solving problems.
I had chances to reinforce my math skills while I have done research all these years. I have very strong mathematical skills. I could help you get better at understanding the basics of mathematics and gaining confidence in solving problem.
I am a native Chinese speaker. Chinese Language was one of my strongest subjects in high school. I have a lot of experience teaching bilingual learners. I had tutored 4 years old to 18 years old. I had passed MTEL Mandarin test. I have worked with middle school and high school students who take Chinese at their schools. I helped them do their homework and improved their grades in tests and quizzes. I had collected a lot of Chinese children's songs, stories and Chinese cartoons which are good supplemental materials for younger kids to learn Chinese. We can learn Chinese through a fun learning process with songs, games, stories and the conversation of daily life.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Algebra seems hard at first for students who just start learning it. Instead of using numbers algebra introduces letters as symbols to represent generalized numbers that may vary(Variables). Algebra also defines the rules of mathematical expressions and equations. To me problem solving is like to solve a puzzle. You list the information you know and use variables for unknown information. Then you find the connection between them to form one or more equations. Then you solve those equations. You will get what you are looking for. I can help you understand concepts well and improve problem solving skills.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 includes factoring, finding roots, solving sets of equations, exponential functions, polynomials, quadratic functions and rational expression, etc. I can help you understand concepts well and improve problem solving skills. I've worked with students taking Algebra 2 at Winchester High School, Winchester high school and Medford High School.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus topics include Polynomial functions, Rational functions, Inverse functions, Exponential functions, Logarithmic functions, Sequences and series, Binomial theorem , Vectors etc. I've worked with students taking precalculus at Winchester High School, Woburn high school, Lexington High school and Medford High School.

Excellent with kids

Ping came fully prepared. Our kids are 6 and 8 respectively. Very structured. Cannot wait for the next class which will happen the following Sunday. The experience Ping brings to the table is very evident.

Exactly what we were looking for!

Our kids studied Mandarin while we lived overseas where the focus was heavily on vocabulary, speaking and listening comprehension. After moving back to the US we found the programs here were more focused on writing & reading, and much less on speaking & listening comprehension. We hired Ping for series of lessons over the summer to keep up their speaking proficiency. She was exactly what we were seeking: a native Mandarin speaker, with many years of tutoring experience who was able to travel to our home for lessons. She mixed in vocabulary lessons from a workbook with listening to recording of stories and carrying on "everyday" conversations about what was going on with them over the summer. And she had a nice rapport with our kids (who as teens are hard to get to talk to us about much of anything). We actually contacted a number of tutors on Wyzant and other services during our search. Most were not native speakers, had little experience or had travel restrictions (aka students in the Boston area looking to make some extra money over the summer). Ping was one of few who could offer all we were looking for, and she did a fantastic job. Thank you, Ping!

Knowledgeable, flexible and dedicated

Ping is helping my HS son with his second year of Mandarin. She is patient and yet persistent in terms of helping him with pronunciation as well as recall. We highly recommend her.

Great, well rounded person

I have been having Ping as my tutor for almost 3 months, she has been extremely helpful to me. Physics is one of my weak subjects and especially in senior year I needed a good grade before I graduate. She's really patient, easy to understand. She has helped me on difficult HWs, helped me prepare quizzes an and tests. Honestly I feel really lucky to find Ping as my tutor for physics, she taught me not just deep understanding in physics, but gave me confidence in this subject.

Knowledgable and patient tutor in Chinese and teaching skills with schedule flexibility

Ping has helped our daughter excel in her Chinese studies so that it is now her favorite subject. It always takes us a while to find a tutor our daughter works will with and Ping fits the bill perfectly. Ping is very skillful in having the student figure out the problem by their self while not allowing the student to become frustrated. She is also very easy to reach and very flexible with scheduling sessions.

Responsible and very patient tutor

Ping is a responsible and very patient tutor who has been working with our child and has the ability to break down complicated math issues where they are able to be understood and applied. She is punctual and has been willing to devote extra time when needed.

Patient but definite language issues.

Ping was very kind, patient, and got right down to it with my daughter, but she was difficult to understand therefore my daughter didn't have a satisfactory lesson despite spending 1-1/2 hours reviewing algebra problems.

Patient and professional

Ping very patiently helped my daughter through concepts she did not understand. Ping is always very professional and is willing to work with us when we need scheduling changes.

Great tutor.

We have had our first lesson and Ping was very good with our two daughters. She made it fun for them to learn, and was able to mix in lots of different things to keep their attention. We look forward to more lessons.

Very Patient

Ping was very patient with my son and willing to commit to a tutoring session with only one day advance. I believe meeting with Ping helped him perform better on his Pre-Calculus quiz the next day.
