Bio

I started my teaching career in Cambridge, MA as an Elementary ELL teacher and eventually was trained as a Reading Recovery teacher. I was then a literacy interventionist for 13 years at my school. My husband I moved to the Cape where I was hired again as a Reading Interventionist at an elementary school for 2 years. I love being an interventionist. Working with children one-on-one or in small groups really gives me the opportunity to know the children well and learn how their brains are processing print. Seeing them learn and progress is so exciting.
Unfortunately COVID has changed our world, so I am looking to support students privately or in small groups, either specific reading tutoring or support with remote learning.

I have 15 years of experience working with struggling readers. I am very familiar with a variety of assessments and am very observant of what works and does not work with a child’s unique learning style.

I have been an elementary educator for 18 years and have always worked closely with classroom teachers to know the full curriculum well. Knowing what students are doing in their classrooms is integral in knowing how to support them the best I can.

As a Reading Recovery teacher we are trained to be flexible in my teaching because children reposed differently to different types is instruction. It is important to have that balance, and phonics is an important part of it.

I am here to support students during these confusing times, I know a lot of instruction was lost over the spring.
