My academic training was in engineering: I received my master's and doctoral degrees in metallurgy and materials science from Columbia University, and my bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. In graduate school I worked for several years as a teaching assistant, which included some lecturing, grading, and tutoring.

After graduating, I worked as an engineer and accrued more than 20 years of experience in various segments of the technology industry, including aerospace, consumer electronics, and electrical and electronic manufacturing. I am qualified to teach physical science and basic engineering science courses, such as general chemistry and physics, as well as basic mathematics.

I have completed extensive coursework in related and relevant engineering science subjects (e.g., fluid and solid mechanics, thermodynamics, metallurgy/materials science).

I would be very happy to work with you in the study of any of these topics. Thank you for your consideration.

Inspiring and knowledgeable tutor

It is a real joy to see Robert introduce the basic concepts of chemistry and atomic structure to my 5th grade daughter. He is accustomed to teaching college level students, but he was patient and willing to start at the very basic level to engage with her. I can see that I will need to participate a lot, in between sessions, to reinforce the concepts he introduced, with videos, games, quizzes, and articles. I will encourage my daughter to study between our sessions so that we can come prepared with questions, and thus have an even more interactive and meaningful experience.

Extremely knowledgeable and goes the extra mile.

My son has now had several sessions with Robert. We couldn't be happier. My son was very frustrated with the online class format and was ready to quit. However, Robert has tutored him every week since and offered his expertise in an easy to understand way. Robert is very organized, great at communicating, puts a lot of time into his sessions, and is extrememly knowledgeable. We couldn't be happier and we highly reccommend Robert.

Excellent teacher- Materials Science

Robert is meticulous and extremely knowledgeable in a variety of disciplines. He is efficient and yet still explains concepts thoroughly. He is dedicated and mindful of finding the best way of arriving at a solution. He even contacted me after one of our sessions after pursuing an even better way of doing one of the problems. I very much appreciate his expertise. Thank you, Robert!

Super knowledgeable tutor

He helped me understand thermochemical information I am learning for the first time in general chemistry 2 which I was really struggling to understand. He also made sure I understand how to get from point a to point b and answered any questions I had very well.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Robert tutored my daughter AP Physics this semester and she thinks he does a better job than her teacher! He even spent extra time off line after session to discuss problems with her. Great tutor, strongly recommend!

Best Math/Physics tutor!

Robert is one of the smartest people I know. He can solve basically any problem out there. Robert helped me for 2 years in subjects in Physics, Math, Excel, and reports. I will ask him for help in solid state later down the road. Highly recommend him as a tutor.
