Hi! My name is James, and I am a native of Nashville, TN, with over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience at both the K-12 and college levels. I obtained my Bachelor's and Master's from Middle Tennessee State University and my Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi. I have experience tutoring and teaching English in groups as large as 30 and in individual one-on-one sessions.

My focus is on teaching English as a necessary skill set--not simply a subject area. I help students work on effective communication, rhetorical skills, editing, proofreading, and more. My goal in tutoring is not simply to help students "fix" their writing, but to instill in them the skills necessary to help them accomplish this task on their own in future assignments.

I am certified to teach K-12 as well, and each lesson is custom-tailored to the needs of my students. I look forward to working with you!
