Hi there! My name is Mohak and I have an honors undergraduate degree in Economics. More importantly, I have a uniquely strong passion for tutoring.

Ever since middle school, I've loved breaking down complex topics and teaching them to my friends, my parents, and just about anyone who would listen. I've also always loved writing: while other students would loathe the 10-page essay assignment, I would revel in it. This passion led me to start my own tutoring company during the senior year of high school, where I learned the "secret sauce" of increasing student grades. I continued to run this company with a friend for just about 2 years - right up until our college careers consumed us and we decided to walk away in order to pursue our own careers. During that time, I was able to scale the company to 14 clients across all major subjects, hire 11 employees, and raise student grades by an average of 20%.

Outside of these experiences, I also volunteered as a teacher in Nepal last summer. It was an incredibly eye-opening journey that taught me how privileged we are to be living in a first-world education system. I taught K-8 english, math, and science in open-air bamboo classrooms to 40+ students in each room. This experience stretched my abilities as an educator: I learned what true patience, compassion, and involvement looks like.

Years later, my desire to help students improve their lives (in all facets) has come racing back. I've turned to Wyzant because this platform makes it far easier to tutor while having another job! I can focus fully on my students without having to worry about scheduling, payroll, etc.

My teaching style is an amalgamation of all my experiences. I am patient yet keen. I am compassionate to students across all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. I seek to not only increase grades and test scores, but to also foster a lifelong passion for learning. I make learning fun, exciting, and fear-less.
