I am a Certified Public Accountant. Currently, I teach as a full-time faculty member in a college. I have a passion for teaching because I enjoy helping my students to succeed. I guess I have inherited the teaching genes from my father, who is now a retired professor.

I started teaching English in China when graduated from Tianjin Normal University with a bachelor's degree. As a high school teacher, I had devoted myself to promoting a student-centered learning environment in my classroom. When helping students to learn a new language, I would like to consider many factors (e.g student age and/or the purpose of learning) to determine a better way to teach. My goal is to make the language learning experience enjoyable and successful for my students.

After I came to the United States, I started my graduate study in business administration and accounting. My teaching background enables me to always see the "big picture" and focus on the key concepts. With a good study plan and effective test-taking strategies, I received an MBA degree, passed the CPA exam, and obtained a CPA license. Let me use my expertise to help you gain a better understanding of the materials. I am very good at turning complicated things into simple steps.

Great tutor - patient and encouraging

Carrie is a wonderful tutor. Our daughter missed a lot of school due to a medical issue and was really behind in Chinese. Carrie has a gentle, patient style and really engaged our daughter in studying. Our daughter is rapidly catching up and all of her test scores have been 90 or above! Chinese is a wonderful language, but really tough to learn. Having a one-on-one tutor like Carrie has made a huge difference for our daughter.
