My name is Jonathan and I completed my Bachelor's and Master's in Science at Emory University in chemistry (organic) and molecular biology, respectively. I will be starting a PhD program in chemistry at Caltech starting in the fall.
During my time at university, the tutoring I received helped me fully understand the material and achieve top grades. These experiences pushed me to become a tutor, where I led individual and group sections for general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry for three years. I have also worked with high school students on chemistry and biology for class and ACT/SAT prep.
I have completed a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, with an emphasis on organic and biochemistry. I have further completed a Master's in Science in cancer biology, where I wrote a thesis on using chemical tools to study biological systems.
During my undergraduate and graduate educations, I tutored dozens of students in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. As a tutor, I helped students excel in some of the most challenging courses offered by the university. The most rewarding moments of my undergraduate education were those where, after working with a student to understand a difficult concept, they have a flash of understanding: they sit back, smile, and shake their head, forever changed.
I aim to be a resource for students, to provide them with a safe space to ask questions and learn the material. I believe an understanding of the fundamentals of a subject can lead to a student's success. I am happy to work with you - feel free to reach out!
