Bio

Although I am fairly new to teaching, I have spent all my life in academic pursuits. I hold both a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and I minored in Mathematics. I was frequently seen as the "go to" guy while pursuing my degrees and I still serve as a consultant to friends and family, some of whom are professionals in the field of Engineering. I have had the pleasure of watching them grow and learn under my tutelage, and I hope to help you realize your own potential as well.

I specialize in tutoring Mathematics at all levels, from Basic Arithmetic to Calculus to Advanced Mathematics for engineers. I love math and I strive to pass this love along to my students. I stress the fundamentals of critical thinking and try to apply real-world applications in my lessons. I also try to break down difficult concepts into simple, straight-forward parts utilizing many examples. I assign practice problems after each lesson so my students gain plenty of practice in the subject. Math can be intimidating but I try to make it fun and enjoyable, as that is more conducive to learning.

I offer free consultation when meeting with a student for the first time. This allows me to introduce myself, to address the concerns of the student, and to tailor my lessons to their specific needs and abilities. I do have a 3-hour cancellation policy but I also offer make-up lessons for cancelled sessions.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!

Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

Differential Equations was a core requirement for my undergraduate degree, and I received an A in the course. Many of the other courses I took, both graduate and undergraduate, made extensive use of differential equations (i.e. solving electrical circuits using diff eqns., using diff. eqns. to design control systems, using diff. eqns. in signal processing applications, etc.), and I scored A's and B's in those courses as well. This has given me experience not only in the theory of diff. eqns., but in their practical uses as well. I have also helped other students with their homework in this subject.
Electrical Engineering,

Electrical Engineering

I hold a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, reflecting 8+ years of college studies in this area. I did well in all of my classes, scoring A's and B's throughout the Master's courses and almost as well in my undergraduate courses (I ended up with a couple of C's in the undergraduate classes). My overall GPA for undergraduate studies was 3.13, and my GPA for graduate studies was 3.4. A sample of the courses taken are DC circuits, AC circuits, Computer Architecture Design, Electronics I/II/III, Linear Systems and Signals, Control Systems, etc.
Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

I took Linear Algebra as part of the core requirements for my undergraduate degree and received an A in the course. I am thoroughly familiar with the theory and concepts of Linear Algebra, and its connections to differential equations. Most of these concepts were put to use in other classes, such as Control Systems, Linear Signals and Systems, Signal Processing, Random Stochastic Processes, etc., all courses in which I received an A.
