I am interested in assisting students succeed by tutoring them. My specialty is tutoring students in Pre-Algebra and Algebra. My preferred method of tutoring is to review homework assignments and look at problems on recently taken exams. My goal is for each student to learn a proven method for solving problems and to build confidence. These classes are key building blocks for later math and science classes and it is necessary for students to be able to use these skills without difficulty during their later years of high school and college.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Operations Management. The Operations Management program is a business program which utilizes science and math to solve business problems and make systems more effective and efficient. I have been working with people in the manufacturing sector for over thirty years. During that time I have had many opportunities to guide new employees and teach training classes. I am excited about this opportunity on Wyzant's platform to help students!

Besides tutoring, I am interested in coaching youth sports, hiking, and playing board games with my family.

As an Industrial Engineer I use math each day. I am also skilled at using Microsoft Excel to help calculate problems which I might have.

I have worked as an Advisor to three Capstone teams from Michigan Technological University. These teams consisted of senior design students and I advised each team for one year. I am very capable helping students with their Mechanical Engineering problems and proofreading technical papers and offering suggestions for improvement.
