I have a diverse background with 17 years of high school teaching experience in New York, Michigan, and as a Fulbright Teacher in England. I have taught in both public and private schools and designed my own literature and writing courses. Personally and professionally, I am committed to creating life-long critical thinkers and learners; I have dedicated my career to enriching students’ lives and helping young people to discover their passions.

As a dynamic and engaging educator, I am experienced in improving students’ English skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing (including creative, personal, and expository). With a masters in the Teaching of English from Michigan State University, my expertise is in American literature, British literature, Shakespeare, plays, poetry, and contemporary literature. My interpersonal skills enable me to forge positive relationships with my students and develop a rapport built on clear communication and mutual respect.

As an educator, I view each tutoring session as an opportunity to help students and support young adults on their journey of discovery. I take pride in my organizational skills and creative abilities to break-down material and help make overwhelming or intimidating content relatable and accessible. For students to express their true selves and grow as learners, they must see that their ideas are valued and worth serious consideration. I have the initiative, drive, and vision to prepare and encourage students to meet their goals. By experiencing success, I strongly believe that my students will enhance their skills as well as boost their confidence as they prepare for their next challenge!
