About Matthew

Bio

As an undergrad at the University of Connecticut I have studied abroad twice in Spain, living with host families on both occasions. As a result, I consider myself fluent in Spanish and am willing to tutor students of all ages, whether it's helping high school students prep for an AP test, college students looking to fulfill a foreign language requirement, or middle schools students who are taking Spanish courses for the first time. As an undergrad at the University of Connecticut I have studied abroad twice in Spain, living with host families on both occasions. As a result, I consider myself fluent in Spanish and am willing to tutor students of all ages, whether it's helping high school students prep for an AP test, college students looking to fulfill a foreign language requirement, or middle schools students who are taking Spanish courses for the first time. I have interned at many schools in Connecticut as an ESL tutor in their new arrivals program. They have many students who come from Latin America not knowing any English and I was able to help them with their assignments, adjusting to a new country, and making the best out of their educational opportunities.

During my time abroad, I participated in a program where I was able to teach English at a school in the city of Seville. I love the Spanish language and can't wait to start tutoring anyone who needs help with their Spanish!

Most recently I have taught Spanish at Avon Middle School and am currently working towards a masters in Bilingual Education at UConn.
