I am currently pursuing a PhD in mathematics at Purdue University, working in the area of mathematical physics. I have also been a full-time mathematics instructor at Ivy Tech Community College, where I was nominated for the McAllister Excellence in Teaching award. I have bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics and physics and years of experience teaching both subjects at the college level. I teach a variety of mathematics courses including quantitative reasoning, college algebra, and calculus.

I have consistently high student reviews and take great pride in that. To me, tutoring any subject is about so much more than showing students how to solve specific problems. Learning any subject means learning a new way of thinking. My job is primarily to help the student identify what misconceptions or difficulties are preventing them from thinking about the subject the way that an expert would. I try to use Socratic teaching and carefully chosen examples to make that happen.

Please get in touch with me for tutoring in any area of physics or mathematics. I have a flexible schedule and will probably be available at a time that's convenient for you.

I hold a masters degree in physics from Purdue university, where I was a teaching assistant in the physics department for four years. During my time there I conducted recitation sections for numerous classes, was the instructor of record for a summer class, and authored portions of a laboratory manual still in use.

Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

I've taken a course in linear algebra, of course. (Passed with an A.) But, more significantly, linear algebra is very very widely used in physics. It's been a part of every physics course I've taken in the course of both of my degrees, and most of the mathematics courses to boot. I have a BS degree in mathematics from Purdue University.

Great Teacher

Nicest guy you’ll ever meet that truly makes you feel like you can tackle any problem. I highly recommend him for physics and math courses. I have been meeting with Christopher for over a year now. He has not only helped me pass weed out courses but also increased my self esteem when it comes to starting difficult problems. There is just something about the way in which he’s able to help you visualize problems that’s 100% worth having him as a tutor. I highly recommend him.

Great Tutor

Chris really helped me to completely understand the topic, and knocked it out of the park. Also, he related things to my field of study to help with my understanding.

I would recommend

Christopher helped me with roots. I understand them better today than I did when I was in high school! I definitely recommend.
