Bio

I've been a kindergarten/middle school/high school music educator since 1975, starting in a small rural school in Colorado, and working my way to much larger Arizona schools. My forte is instrumental music, especially trombone, but can do all band instruments. I can also teach popular and country songwriting, general music, composition and arranging, ear training, basic guitar and electric bass, and music theory. I'm also very proficient with Finale music writing software.

I can also teach popular and country songwriting, general music, composition and arranging, ear training, basic guitar and electric bass, and music theory. I'm also very proficient with Finale music writing software.

I take all 1st through 12th grade students and any age adults, and am an extremely patient educator. Music has been my life for over 40 years and I absolutely love it.

I wrote my first song in 1968 and I have never stopped. I have a book on songwriting that will be out by October 2012. I have attended and sponsored many, many songwriting workshops, and have been a member of the Arizona Songwriter's Association.

I have been a trombone player since the third grade, believe it or not, and have played with the Denver Symphony, the Pueblo Symphony, Maynard Ferguson, and Chuck Mangione. I have also given private lessons for many years.

I have been a golfer since the early 1960s and have participated on many golf teams and in many tournaments. I, at one time, held a 2 handicap and have played in qualifying rounds for the Phoenix Open during the 1980s. I was also an assistant golf coach for an Arizona high school during the early 2000s.
