I have a PhD in linguistics and a master's degree in French. For many years I have taught French at different levels, from kindergarten to adult education. My extensive experience ranges from working with young children in the immersion program "Global Child" to teaching students in grades one through eight. I also served as a long-term French substitute at high schools, and as a French instructor in an Adult Education Program. As a tutor I helped students in grades 7-12 at Lexington Learning Center.
My primary goal as a tutor is to assess my students' comprehension baseline in order to tailor their introduction to the French language according to their skill level. I see it as my duty to help my students feel comfortable in their communication skills in order to enable them to understand and speak French with ease and pleasure.
I am confident that as a tutor, I can create a productive learning environment that is student-centered. I love teaching and have many methods for keeping my students engaged throughout each session.
I try to be flexible with time. When it is possible I offer makeup sessions.
I look forward to hearing from you and doing my best to help you with your studies.
