About Elena

Bio

Bonjour! Je m'appelle Elena Tikhonova. I earned my BA from the University of Foreign Languages (European Department) and MA in French and French Literature in NY. I also completed the French courses in the French Alliance Center in NY, which allowed me to broaden my language skills.

I have been teaching French for all age groups (beginning from 3 years old kids to the adult advanced level) for more than 15 years and I am really happy to provide my students with the experience and skills I...

Bonjour! Je m'appelle Elena Tikhonova. I earned my BA from the University of Foreign Languages (European Department) and MA in French and French Literature in NY. I also completed the French courses in the French Alliance Center in NY, which allowed me to broaden my language skills.

I have been teaching French for all age groups (beginning from 3 years old kids to the adult advanced level) for more than 15 years and I am really happy to provide my students with the experience and skills I have acquired for all the years.

I have worked with the kids of all the age groups in USA creating cooperative learning, hands-on and minds-on approach. I also participated in "Write-to-Read" program in California and used these methods to encourage reading/writing at home, parent involvement, and listening/speaking/writing skills. I always try to create an individual approach to every child to develop his/her unique language skills and personal perception. While working with the adult groups I performed the cooperative group work and language development.

Very patient, kind and encouraging

I decided to start learning Russian so that I could communicate with some family and I found Elena on this app. So far, I’ve only had two sessions but after those two lessons and starting without knowing ANY Russian, I’m already reading Russian characters rhythmically, easily understanding grammatical principles, starting to get comfortable with greetings, etc. Both times i’ve met with her she’s been so patient and encouraging as I stumbled over my words and clearly explained things that I had questions for. I cant wait for more sessions! 11/10!
