Hello! My name is Soumya, and I'm 23 years old :) I graduated from UC San Diego with a B.S. in Computer Science, and a minor in Cognitive Science. I've tutored elementary- and middle-school aged students for 2-3 years, primarily in flute and basic language learning (Telugu). In my spare time, I love reading, listening to music, and solving puzzles. I believe all students can learn with the right teacher and strategy, and I hope that I can help you/your child in the subjects I know!

Given my career of choice, Computer Science is something I'm passionate about and would love to teach. I started out teaching myself Java, but I'm proficient in many more languages now, including C/C++, Python, Javascript, and more! I'm also comfortable with algorithms, and have some experience working in Unreal Engine 5.

I also have been practicing flute for 15+ years now, and have some experience teaching beginners. I received my Level 10 Certification in the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program, and have experience participating in Wind Ensembles, Chamber Orchestras, solos, duets, quartets, and in the pit for a musical! I also have some experience translating Carnatic music to flute, and some other miscellaneous knowledge :)
