A native of North Carolina, I earned an M. Ed. and my NC teaching license in Special Education from UNCG in 2008. I also hold a B.S. in Mathematics and US History from Randolph-Macon Woman's College (now Randolph College). All through college, I worked as a tutor and have continued to work as a private tutor since graduating. For one semester, I taught in a small charter school where I functioned as the sole mathematics teacher and was responsible for teaching grades 6 to 12. For two years, I worked at a K-6 after school program that focused heavily on homework and success in school. My tutoring experiences span from pre-kindergarten through junior and senior level college mathematics and history courses, as well as adult education. I have taught entire Geometry, Algebra I & II, and Latin I courses as a private tutor as well as worked with both high school and adult students as they prepare for the SAT, GRE, and GED. (One of my tutees was in her mid-50s with only an 8th-grade education when she began working towards her GED, so it's never too late or too impossible to start!)

Most recently, I have been working daily with a second-grade student with severe anxiety and learning needs, teaching Algebra I to a group of homeschooling students, and working with a few college students on entrance exam preparations, including the GED. On top of this, I have various other tutoring clients and lead a small group for pre-teen/early-teen girls. Having completed an MDiv degree, I am also qualified to help those wanting to learn the Bible or Koine Greek (Biblical Greek) or those seeking a mentor for their child.

As one can see, I enjoy tutoring all ages. For me, tutoring is not only a job; it is a hobby, a passion, a lifestyle. I have loved to help others learn since I was little. As a young teenager, I would help my mother home-school my younger brother. Now, I have the expertise to complement my dedication. I feel very strong that children should not merely be trained to pass courses but that they should be taught to

Over the past decade, I have worked with students of all ages on improving study skills. Specifically, I have a great deal of experience working with students who face high levels of anxiety regarding school in general, a specific subject, and/or test-taking. Having completed two Masters degrees, I have personally had to develop not only good test-taking skills, but also good time management and study skills which I often pass on to my students. If you have any further questions regarding my capability to aid your child in building his or her study skills, please ask!

Great tutor with excellent teaching ideas and resources!

Rebekah is an excellent tutor with excellent teaching skills and ideas! My stepson went from failing in school to AB honor roll with Rebekah. She is the sweetest and kindest person and he looks forward to his weekly sessions with her. She makes learning fun and he is able to grasp each concept with her.

Excellent!!

Over the course that I have been tutored, my grades have shown improvement and I definitely understand Latin I grammer and translation better. Also she's very flexible with the course you would like to get help in, so if you have a problem with any other course she has great feedback.

Truly Gifted

I am adult student that has gone back to school. I used tutors at my school all of the time for free and even had numerous tutors for math but I went online to find a true good quality tutor that could really teach math. She is worth every penny and more. She truly has a gift to teach. She is amazing and knows her math, smart girl! She is patient and takes her time with you. She would even go home and send me links to help me out when we were not together. She searched for ways to teach me how to learn that fit my style of learning. In math you need someone who knows how to teach the material, she is it! I will call and use her for my children should I ever need math help for them at any level. She is kind, smart and truly gifted to teach. I have and use many tutors, she is my favorite! Good Luck!
